The Challenge

Bring your own unique vocal style to a specially crafted instrumental track by producer Kristian Kohle. Whether you prefer singing, screaming, growling, or a mix of everything—this contest is your platform to shine.

How It Works

  1. Watch and Learn: Dive into the documentary where Kristian Kohle demonstrates how he crafted this track using just a laptop, an affordable Audient USB interface, and a handful of Austrian Audio mics, all in a home-recording style without the use of a control room—everything recorded in one room.
  2. Download the Track: Get the instrumental version of the song—no vocals included. It’s your canvas to express your voice.
  3. Record Your Version: Let your creativity run wild! Record your interpretation and show us your best take.
  4. Submit Your Entry: Upload your final mix along with a PDF of the lyrics and your contact information.

Submission Contest Rules

"Metal Vocal Battle" Submission Contest Rules

Welcome to the "Metal Vocal Battle" Contest! Please read the following rules carefully before uploading your submission. By uploading your file, you agree to these rules.

1. Submission Requirements:

  • Upload a ZIP file containing:
    • The song as a WAV or MP3 file (no individual tracks, please)
    • A PDF with the lyrics of the song and your contact information (name, address, and email)
  • Each participant may submit only one song. Multiple submissions will not be accepted.
  • File Naming Convention: Name your ZIP file with your name (e.g., YourName_SongTitle.zip).

2. Submission Deadline:

All submissions must be received by August 15th, 2024.

3. Content Restrictions:

Do not include any offensive or political lyrics. Submissions containing such content will be disqualified and deleted at our discretion.

4. Feedback and Judging:

  • Feedback is not guaranteed for any submissions.
  • Kristian Kohle will personally select the winners. Good luck!

5. Public Display:

  • The best and most interesting submissions will be shown in a YouTube video, likely in September. 5 of the featured submissions will win a free Kohle Audio Kult membership for one year.
  • By submitting your song, you agree that your mix may be publicly featured on the Kohle Audio Kult YouTube channel and other public platforms.

6. Copyright and Ownership:

  • You guarantee that your submission does not infringe on any copyrights or the rights of others. Ensure you have the necessary rights and permissions for all elements of your song.
  • By entering the contest, you grant us non-exclusive rights to use your submission for promotional purposes.

7. Disqualification:

Grounds for disqualification include, but are not limited to, failure to follow submission requirements, submission of offensive content, or multiple submissions.

8. Technical Issues:

If you experience technical difficulties while submitting your entry, please contact us at [email protected] before the submission deadline.

9. Privacy:

We will only use your personal information to inform you about the contest and will protect it in accordance with our privacy policy.
